I was just telling myself sometimes I don’t want to be human, but this reminds me the beauty of being able to feel all the feels. Thank you, Alex.

I know this context isn’t one of embrace but I love this sentiment of this phrase ❤️

“…reminds me I’m human.”

Yes. We often forget that we're human beings, and not T-1000s, that have real emotions. 😁

I teach my kids that our feelings are meant to be felt, all of them, it’s what makes us human. I am feeling way too many feelings right now though, and there are one too many tears to count. It’s tiring being human sometimes.

Teaching kids about how to express themselves can be a challenging period. They're making friends that allows them to be themselves while avoiding embarassment from their peers. But it starts at home. When kids understand the importance of how to express themselves and not tuck it away for fear of being seen as weak, aggressive or embarassed, they'll carry this with them into adulthood.

But this can get complicated when parents are struggling with their own feelings and aren't sure how to teach their kids how to manage theirs. I've been there.

Keep talking to your kids about it. When they become adults, they'll appreciate you doing that for them. As parents, we don't have all the answers to their life problems because we're still trying to figure out our own. But transparency, freedom to express yourselves and being validated is important.💖

Also, most kids think their moms are Super Woman and don't want to show their kids when they're feeling every other emotion but happiness. We're moms that make it look easy and don't want our kids to worry. But they need to need to see all of us. This is confirmation to them that its ok to have moments when you want to cry and bad days.

Oh my gosh, I started crying the other day on the couch and my 5 year old daughter walked in and just hugged me, it was the sweetest thing.

Kids know when we're not right🥹

Sometimes, we just need big hugs from our kids. They don't need us to explain anything. They just want us to feel good again.
