My god. The way I reacted after reading the second paragraph in "voices..." scared the cat. I read that twice just to make sure I was prepared for what was about to happen. The landing of this piece was perfect. FUCK!
Both of them were originally written as one and "supposed" to be a poem. I couldn't see both parts flowing together smoothly but I find them complimenting each other much better separately. Both of them questioning how we keep ourself "safe"...but we're not.
We aren't safe in our minds, leaning too far into our own understanding and forcing ourself to believe what we say to be true.
Words have power and how we use it matters. What you tell yourself can have lasting affects but also staying quiet doesn't mean safety either.
I thought about the times when I wanted to speak up but didn't or how I wanted to express myself.
John Noire mentioned that it's an unofficial entry to the 'heavy body' series and I see that. I tried to deviate (TRIED lol) but the way they were written reads like they're extensions to the series. I've been playing with the idea of adding more to 'heavy body' but after I wrote 'bones' I wasn't sure if I wanted to add more.
Now I need to read all of them AGAIN with 'safe : voice'.
safe hit deeply. 🤍
It does everytime I read it.
Thanks for reading Wildflower✨
My pleasure!! 🤍
Never silence your voice.
❤️
Never🖤
This one messed me upppp
I bet and thanks for reading B! Being imprisoned, literally and metaphorically, keeps flashing in my mind.
If we're talking about our mental and emotional health, we have to accept that we're responsible for keeping ourself in that mindset.

They are twins, complementary, but separate. I think that was the right way to approach it.
Everything you've just said, I'm canonizing as gospel.
